1983 | The Harley Owners Group (HOG) was founded in America in 1983 as the first factory-sponsored motorcycle club in the world. |
1989 | Membership of HOG reaches 90,000. |
Robin Wenham, the founder of Motex began importing Harley-Davidsons to his small dealership at Collingham near Bromyard in Herefordshire. | |
A group from Motex attending Daytona Bike week in Florida form the Rolling Hills Chapter. This was affiliated into the Harley Owners Group on 3rd March 1989 as the first official Chapter in Europe, with Motex as the sponsoring dealer. Robin Wenham is Chapter Director. | |
1991 | The first European HOG Rally is held in Cheltenham. There are now 650 HOG Chapters worldwide. |
1992 | Motex move to new purpose-built premises at Shire Business Park in Worcester. The dealership opens on May 30th 1992. |
1999 | Motex is sold to the Pendragon Group. Sue Lane becomes Chapter Director. |
The European rally is once again held in Cheltenham. Rolling Hills are the Host Chapter and celebrate their 10th anniversary. Many chapters attending from abroad become aware that Rolling Hills was Europe’s first official chapter. | |
2003 | European celebrations of Harley-Davidson’s 100th anniversary held in Barcelona. Rolling Hills partake in the Grand Parade and proudly display the Chapter banner. |
2004 | The Pendragon Group close Motex in Worcester and opens it’s new dealership in Aston, Birmingham, which becomes the sponsoring dealer for Rolling Hills. |
2005 | Birmingham Harley-Davidson sponsor a new Chapter. |
Rolling Hills become an independent Chapter and affiliate with Wolfruna Chapter sponsored by Chapel Ash Harley-Davidson, Wolverhampton. | |
2006 | Chapel Ash dealership is renamed Stratstone Harley-Davidson, Wolverhampton. |
2008 | The Cheltenham Harley-Davidson dealership opens in Cheltenham and Rolling Hills are made the official Chapter on 10th May. |
2013 | The Cheltenham Harley-Davidson dealership moves to its new, larger premises just a short way along Princess Elizabeth Way. |
2014 | March 3rd, our 25th Anniversary as a Chapter. |
2024 | 35th Anniversary! |
